About the Founder
My name is Kayla Shambry. I reside in Vancouver, Washington, where I serve in ministry alongside my husband, who is the lead Pastor of Project Truth Community Church.
In the spring of 2012, I truly accepted Jesus Christ for myself as my Lord and Savior. This happened in my college dorm room after an attempted suicide. It was at that moment that I knew God wanted me to live. Since then, I have navigated many hardships that led me to a path of self-discovery and reclaiming my narrative. I've navigated many dark seasons like heartbreak, divorce, the death of a child, and more, all things I could have let break me or define me. Through the grace and mercy of Jesus and therapy, I chose life and a more abundant life. I've embarked on a lifelong healing journey, unpacking my past and present trauma, unveiling my triggers, and addressing the roots.
I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, and hold a graduate certificate in Christian counseling from Gateway Seminary. I am currently pursuing a professional coaching certification. I use my life experiences and education to encourage and empower others to rediscover a new version of themselves, even more beautiful than before. God impressed upon my heart the burden for trauma-informed care, and my mission is to help individuals and couples in their journey toward healing and living a redeemed life.
